Masterpiece Classic™ 3/4" Deep Bar • 1/16" Canvas Clearance

Canvas Clearance is the space between the Bar and the canvas, and this Bar has just enough to prevent the unsightly lines during painting when you paint with a light touch, and still maximize the strength of the frame.

• Stretcher Bar Profile produces a 3/4" deep stretched canvas
• 1-5/8" wide Stretcher Bar
• Solid Ponderosa Pine or Fir from the Pacific Northwest

No Finger Joints!

Solid Wood is far superior to finger jointed wood, which is many small pieces glued together, each with varying grain densities that absorb and shed moisture at varying rates, expanding and contracting non-uniformly as environmental conditions change, and causing the wood to bow and the finger joints to eventually fail.

A single homogeneous kiln-dried solid wood Stretcher Bar outperforms and outlasts a finger jointed Bar whose sole purpose is to save the manufacturer cost, not contribute to the archival value of artwork intended to last a millennium. As a manufacturer, Masterpiece® does its part to conserve as much wood as possible, and still provide a quality product that will out-perform any other in the marketplace.

Sustainability in our Forests and our Communities

At Masterpiece®, we believe in responsible and sustainable business practices. That's why we only use lumber from sustainably managed forests in our products. By doing so, we can help to protect our planet's forests, reduce our environmental impact, and support the communities that depend on these valuable resources.

Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) Primer Pigment

This primer contains premium-grade Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) white pigment, renowned for its exceptional performance in acrylic priming. Its standout feature is its enduring whiteness, coupled with remarkable flexibility that persists over time. In contrast to other pigments such as zinc dioxide, Titanium Dioxide maintains its resilience, preventing brittleness as it ages. This quality ensures that artworks retain their integrity and will stand the test of time.

I paint for the sole purpose of magnifying the privilege of being alive. ♦ Robert Henri

Robert Henri, a prominent figure in American Realism, not only revolutionized art with his brush strokes but also with his profound perception of life. Throughout his life, Henri sought to capture the essence of existence, the raw emotions, and the fleeting moments that define the human experience. For Henri, art wasn't just a medium; it was a mirror reflecting the sheer wonder of life.

Artists, with their unique lens on the world, often see beauty where others might overlook it. The mundane, the everyday, and even the struggles are rendered extraordinary under the watchful eye and skilful hand of an artist. We are privileged to both witness and depict the grand tapestry of life, to feel its pulsating energy, and to immortalize it on canvas. Like Henri, we artists continue to celebrate and elevate the wonders of being alive, finding joy in the details, and inviting others to marvel at the privilege of existence alongside us.
