Masterpiece Classic™ 3/4" Deep Bar • 1/16" Canvas Clearance

Canvas Clearance is the space between the Bar and the canvas, and this Bar has just enough to prevent the unsightly lines during painting when you paint with a light touch, and still maximize the strength of the frame.

• Stretcher Bar Profile produces a 3/4" deep stretched canvas
• 1-5/8" wide Stretcher Bar
• Solid Ponderosa Pine or Fir from the Pacific Northwest

No Finger Joints!

Solid Wood is far superior to finger jointed wood, which is many small pieces glued together, each with varying grain densities that absorb and shed moisture at varying rates, expanding and contracting non-uniformly as environmental conditions change, and causing the wood to bow and the finger joints to eventually fail.

A single homogeneous kiln-dried solid wood Stretcher Bar outperforms and outlasts a finger jointed Bar whose sole purpose is to save the manufacturer cost, not contribute to the archival value of artwork intended to last a millennium. As a manufacturer, Masterpiece® does its part to conserve as much wood as possible, and still provide a quality product that will out-perform any other in the marketplace.

Tree Replanting - Essential to Sustainably Managed Forests

Harvesting timber provides humans with an essential natural resource, but replanting trees at a rate higher than a harvest is a key component in humanity's effort to guarantee a healthy forest for the future. Increasing our number of trees is just as essential to our economy, as the harvest itself, which is why we select only timber harvested from responsibly managed forests.

Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) Primer Pigment

This primer contains premium-grade Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) white pigment, renowned for its exceptional performance in acrylic priming. Its standout feature is its enduring whiteness, coupled with remarkable flexibility that persists over time. In contrast to other pigments such as zinc dioxide, Titanium Dioxide maintains its resilience, preventing brittleness as it ages. This quality ensures that artworks retain their integrity and will stand the test of time.

I lack the magnificent richness of color that animates nature. ♦ Paul Cézanne

Paul Cézanne, a true pioneer and master of post-impressionism modern art, left us with this introspective quote that strikes a chord with artists like us. Cézanne's art captures the essence of nature and a deep exploration of color. He is best known for his landscapes, still lifes, and portraits, which often featured geometric shapes and a unique approach to color. His works, such as The Card Players and Mont Sainte-Victoire, reveal his fascination with the interplay of light and shadow, as well as his quest to replicate the vibrant hues of the natural world.

When Cézanne admitted, I lack the magnificent richness of color that animates nature, he acknowledged the eternal challenge that artists face: translating the awe-inspiring beauty of the world onto canvas. His words serve as a reminder that even the most accomplished artists are humbled by nature's splendor. As artists, we share in Cézanne's quest to express the essence of color and light, constantly striving to convey the profound richness of the world around us through our art. Cézanne's legacy inspires us to embrace this challenge with humility and unwavering dedication, knowing that each stroke of our brush or pencil brings us closer to nature's magnificent palette.
