12x36 Classic Value Cotton Canvas 3/4" Deep #CM-1236

True 3:1 Panorama Proportion - 12x36 Size

This unique 12x36 is actually a fairly common 3:1 proportion used in art and cinema.

The 3:1 Panorama a proportion is preferred by many artists who require a super wide compositional format. Of course, this proportion is popularized by photographers and cinematographers, for ultra landscape and wide angled imagery that creates a sense of scope and grandeur in a scene, like cityscapes, ocean and mountain scenes, and scenes with expansive horizons. It is described as a polyomino proportion on the order of 3 or triple-square proportion. There are several common Panorama sizes in this 3:1 aspect ratio that you will recognize, and some are intriguing custom sizes, as well.

Masterpiece Classic™ 3/4" Deep Bar • 1/16" Canvas Clearance

Canvas Clearance is the space between the Bar and the canvas, and this Bar has just enough to prevent the unsightly lines during painting when you paint with a light touch, and still maximize the strength of the frame.

No Finger Joints!

Solid Wood is far superior to finger jointed wood, which is many small pieces glued together, each with varying grain densities that absorb and shed moisture at varying rates, expanding and contracting non-uniformly as environmental conditions change, and causing the wood to bow and the finger joints to eventually fail.

A single homogeneous kiln-dried solid wood Stretcher Bar outperforms and outlasts a finger jointed Bar whose sole purpose is to save the manufacturer cost, not contribute to the archival value of artwork intended to last a millennium. As a manufacturer, Masterpiece® does its part to conserve as much wood as possible, and still provide a quality product that will out-perform any other in the marketplace.

Sustainably Managed Forests Coexist with Mankind

We use lumber grown in the sustainable forests of the Pacific Northwest, where there’s more standing timber today than last century! There will always be a demand for wood pulp and fiber, but striking a harmonious balance with human coexistence is the essential strategy to which we subscribe. Sustainably managed forests increase our health and abundance of our forests which can be in harmony with this precious natural resource.

Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) Primer Pigment

This primer contains premium-grade Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) white pigment, renowned for its exceptional performance in acrylic priming. Its standout feature is its enduring whiteness, coupled with remarkable flexibility that persists over time. In contrast to other pigments such as zinc dioxide, Titanium Dioxide maintains its resilience, preventing brittleness as it ages. This quality ensures that artworks retain their integrity and will stand the test of time.

It is not the going out of port, but the coming in, that determines the success of a voyage. ♦ Henry Ward Beecher

Though primarily remembered as a preacher and social reformer, Henry Ward Beecher encapsulated a profound insight about life's endeavors in this quote. He recognized that beginnings, while filled with excitement and hope, are only half of the story. Our art careers may start with enthusiasm and a rush of inspiration, but it's the culmination of our efforts, the final strokes on a canvas, that truly define our achievements. For Beecher, life was characterized by its trials, triumphs, and the values one upheld through it all.

His words serve as a reminder for all of us. We embark on numerous voyages, each canvas being a new journey. Yet, it's not just about the initial inspiration or the first splash of color; it's about how we refine, iterate, and complete our works. In the end, it's our completed pieces, the art we've put into the world, that speaks volumes. It's essential for us to remember that every piece we create and every challenge we face is an opportunity to define ourselves, not just by how we start, but by how we finish.
