True 5:4 Photography Proportion - 12x15 Size
When you actually view this canvas in your hands, it looks just like the little brother to a 16x20, kind of cool!
The 5:4 aspect ratio is common to both art and portrait photography, as it creates a visually pleasing format for the human figure and face. The balanced compositional format can help to create a sense of symmetry and harmony in your artwork. The 5:4 ratio has a familiar "feel", as it was commonly used in early computer monitors. Additionally, you might consider trying some relatively unknown sizes in this same proportion that we call Lost Sizes As an artist, you get the best of both worlds, because you still get to use the same aesthetically appealing 5:4 format and use rare or novel sizes that help make your art stand-out.

Vegan Ground:
There are no animal products that make-up the sizing and the primer for this fine canvas. Historically, traditional canvas grounds have included egg tempura, pigments with cow urine, and of course, rabbit skin glue. In today's rapidly advancing world, there are many more choices available for artists who prefer non-animal based products that perform far better than their animal-based predecessors.
Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) Primer Pigment
This primer contains premium-grade Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) white pigment, renowned for its exceptional performance in acrylic priming. Its standout feature is its enduring whiteness, coupled with remarkable flexibility that persists over time. In contrast to other pigments such as zinc dioxide, Titanium Dioxide maintains its resilience, preventing brittleness as it ages. This quality ensures that artworks retain their integrity and will stand the test of time.
Our Hardcore™ Pro Pro Canvas Panels are the flattest on the market. They are made using MDF (medium density fiberboard) which is the highest quality engineered wood board on the market. Moisture in the board can cause undesirable results to the panel and your artwork, which is why we size the board with four layers on the front before the canvas is mounted, thereby defending against moisture getting into the board and underneath your artwork.
Canvas Panels should be as flat as possible, otherwise, they don't display well in a frame, and can create spaces between the artwork and the frame. A bowed panel is also a sign of having been impacted by the effect of moisture. Canvas can shrink, even after it is mounted on the board. For this reason, Masterpiece® developed a unique proprietary process that stress-relieves each panel, thereby virtually eliminating the bow that is commonly found in competing panel products. Hardcore™ Pro Canvas Panels provide a stable foundation for your art.

To express the love of two lovers by a marriage of two complementary colors.
♦ Paul Gauguin
Paul Gauguin's exploration into the realm of color was nothing short of revolutionary. He moved beyond the mere replication of the natural world to use color as a vehicle for emotion and meaning. This sentiment captures the essence of Gauguin's belief that artists should utilize the full spectrum of their palette, not just to imitate life but to convey deeper emotional truths. He viewed colors as living entities, each with its unique voice and story to tell. In the same way that two people might come together, complementing each other's strengths and weaknesses, colors too can merge to create something entirely new and profound.
Artists have always sought new methods and mediums to share their visions and innermost feelings. Gauguin challenges us to view our work from a fresh perspective. By harnessing the power of color combinations, we can evoke emotions, create mood, and transport our audience to different places and times. Just as Gauguin believed in the symbiotic relationship of two complementary colors, we can find inspiration in the world around us, blending different elements to communicate our unique artistic message.
We curated this insightful quote by Paul Gauguin, and our interpretation thereof; plus we made this portrait in the spirit of creativity. Time to create your own expression!
