10x14 Hardcore Pro Versailles Plein Air Canvas Panel #HL-1014

True 7:5 Photography Proportion - 10x14 Size

For an uncommon size, artists do tend to appreciate and use this intriguing 10x14 size. It's also considered to be a Dynamic Root-2 Rectangle size.

Another widely used proportion in photography is the 7:5 aspect ratio, but is relatively uncommon in art, save for the 5x7 size. It is commonly accepted as a pleasing proportion. Some artists choose this proportion to add visual interest by breaking away from more traditional shaped canvas sizes. There are only a handful of standard canvas sizes in this ratio, but there are a whole collection of (what we call) Lost Sizes in this aspect ratio, which are often unknown sizes that add intrigue to the final composition.

Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) Primer Pigment

This primer contains premium-grade Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) white pigment, renowned for its exceptional performance for oil priming. Its standout feature is its enduring whiteness, coupled with remarkable flexibility that persists over time. In contrast to other pigments such as zinc dioxide, Titanium Dioxide maintains its resilience, preventing brittleness as it ages. This quality ensures that artworks retain their integrity and will stand the test of time.

Our Hardcore™ Pro Pro Canvas Panels are the flattest on the market. They are made using MDF (medium density fiberboard) which is the highest quality engineered wood board on the market. Moisture in the board can cause undesirable results to the panel and your artwork, which is why we size the board with four layers on the front before the canvas is mounted, thereby defending against moisture getting into the board and underneath your artwork.

Canvas Panels should be as flat as possible, otherwise, they don't display well in a frame, and can create spaces between the artwork and the frame. A bowed panel is also a sign of having been impacted by the effect of moisture. Canvas can shrink, even after it is mounted on the board. For this reason, Masterpiece® developed a unique proprietary process that stress-relieves each panel, thereby virtually eliminating the bow that is commonly found in competing panel products. Hardcore™ Pro Canvas Panels provide a stable foundation for your art.

I paint to empty my head of things. ♦ Frida Kahlo

For Kahlo, painting was more than just an expression; it was a cathartic process, a way to confront and process the myriad emotions and experiences she encountered. Each canvas became a vessel, absorbing her pain, joy, love, and despair. For artists, such a process is therapeutic. Through our creations, we navigate the complexities of our inner worlds, finding clarity amidst chaos. The act of bringing imagination to life provides an outlet, helping us declutter our minds and attain a sense of peace.

Art, in many ways, serves as a sanctuary. When emotions overwhelm, or the weight of the world bears down, we retreat into our creative havens, seeking release and rejuvenation. Kahlo's practice encapsulates this sentiment, urging us to continually seek solace in our craft, letting our creations be the balm that soothes our restless souls.
