Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) Primer Pigment

This primer contains premium-grade Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) white pigment, renowned for its exceptional performance for oil priming. Its standout feature is its enduring whiteness, coupled with remarkable flexibility that persists over time. In contrast to other pigments such as zinc dioxide, Titanium Dioxide maintains its resilience, preventing brittleness as it ages. This quality ensures that artworks retain their integrity and will stand the test of time.

Our Hardcore™ Pro Pro Canvas Panels are the flattest on the market. They are made using MDF (medium density fiberboard) which is the highest quality engineered wood board on the market. Moisture in the board can cause undesirable results to the panel and your artwork, which is why we size the board with four layers on the front before the canvas is mounted, thereby defending against moisture getting into the board and underneath your artwork.

Canvas Panels should be as flat as possible, otherwise, they don't display well in a frame, and can create spaces between the artwork and the frame. A bowed panel is also a sign of having been impacted by the effect of moisture. Canvas can shrink, even after it is mounted on the board. For this reason, Masterpiece® developed a unique proprietary process that stress-relieves each panel, thereby virtually eliminating the bow that is commonly found in competing panel products. Hardcore™ Pro Canvas Panels provide a stable foundation for your art.

I say that whoever claims to have finished a canvas is terribly arrogant. ♦ Claude Monet

The father of Impressionism, Claude Monet, is renowned for his luminous landscapes and atmospheric depictions of light. When one thinks of Monet, images of water lilies, haystacks, and the Rouen Cathedral at various times of day come to mind. These repeated studies were not just about capturing different lighting or weather conditions but were, in essence, Monet's quest for perfection, his endless pursuit to encapsulate fleeting moments.

This statement from Monet reveals an understanding that art is a continuous exploration, that it's always evolving and never truly 'finished'. In the eyes of an artist, every stroke can always be refined, every shade deepened, every line redrawn. When we immerse ourselves in our work, the boundaries of possibility expand, making perfection an elusive goal. It's a humbling realization that keeps our egos in check and drives us to continually grow and refine our skills.

For all of us striving to master our craft, Monet's words serve as a gentle reminder. It's not about reaching an end, but rather celebrating the journey of creation itself, understanding that every piece we produce is but a snapshot of our artistic evolution at that particular moment. The canvas is a testament to our current capabilities, always leaving room for further growth, exploration, and understanding.
