Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) Primer Pigment

This primer contains premium-grade Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) white pigment, renowned for its exceptional performance in acrylic priming. Its standout feature is its enduring whiteness, coupled with remarkable flexibility that persists over time. In contrast to other pigments such as zinc dioxide, Titanium Dioxide maintains its resilience, preventing brittleness as it ages. This quality ensures that artworks retain their integrity and will stand the test of time.

Artfix Pau™ Portrait Smooth Belgian Linen offers a luxurious surface, ideal for highly detailed work. Preferred by portrait artists because it is so smooth for linen. Due to the nature of how flax plants are turned into linen textiles, there may be variations in yarn thickness thereby creating fabric that is individual in nature and has character. There can be infrequent naturally occurring nubs in the linen which may yield small slight bumps where the linen is a little thicker than the rest of the strand. This is normal and part of what gives linen its character.

Our Hardcore™ Pro Pro Canvas Panels are the flattest on the market. They are made using MDF (medium density fiberboard) which is the highest quality engineered wood board on the market. Moisture in the board can cause undesirable results to the panel and your artwork, which is why we size the board with four layers on the front before the canvas is mounted, thereby defending against moisture getting into the board and underneath your artwork.

Canvas Panels should be as flat as possible, otherwise, they don't display well in a frame, and can create spaces between the artwork and the frame. A bowed panel is also a sign of having been impacted by the effect of moisture. Canvas can shrink, even after it is mounted on the board. For this reason, Masterpiece® developed a unique proprietary process that stress-relieves each panel, thereby virtually eliminating the bow that is commonly found in competing panel products. Hardcore™ Pro Canvas Panels provide a stable foundation for your art.

The simultaneous contrast is both a harmony and a discord. ♦ Robert Delaunay

Delving into the intricacies of Robert Delaunay's career, one is struck by his obsession with contrasts, especially in the realm of color. A pioneer of Orphism, a subset of Cubism, Delaunay's exploration wasn't just about the visual aesthetics of color but also about its duality and interactions. When colors meet, they either enhance each other in harmony or clash in discord. His abstraction often played with this tension, crafting compositions that lived in the electric moment of 'simultaneous contrast'.

The concept carries profound implications. Colors, much like emotions, find their truest expression in relation. The vibrancy of a hue can be magnified or diminished based on its neighbor. It reminds us of the delicate balance and choices we make, not just in color palettes but in life. Embracing both harmony and discord, we find our unique voice and perspective in a world filled with contrasts.
