True Dynamic Root-2 Proportion - 7x10 Size

This 7x10 is one of our Dynamic Root-2 Rectangle Root-2 Rectangle series.

The Dynamic Root-2 rectangle is an interesting proportion based on organizing your spatial composition with endless symmetrical divisions. The premise in Jay Hambridge's 1926 book is that the Dynamic Symmetry of individual elements are informed by their relationship to the entire composition. This very special proportion is guided by the square roots of integers and has a storied and historical basis in art.

It involves the use of geometric shapes and patterns in the proportion of the square root of 2 to 1 to create balance and harmony in a composition. This can be achieved by dividing a composition into a grid of squares or rectangles, and then placing elements within the grid in a way that follows the principles of dynamic symmetry. Dynamic symmetry is often used to create a sense of order and structure in a composition, and can be particularly useful for creating compositions that are harmonious and pleasing to the eye.

Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) Primer Pigment

This primer contains premium-grade Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) white pigment, renowned for its exceptional performance in acrylic priming. Its standout feature is its enduring whiteness, coupled with remarkable flexibility that persists over time. In contrast to other pigments such as zinc dioxide, Titanium Dioxide maintains its resilience, preventing brittleness as it ages. This quality ensures that artworks retain their integrity and will stand the test of time.

Our Hardcore™ Pro Pro Canvas Panels are the flattest on the market. They are made using MDF (medium density fiberboard) which is the highest quality engineered wood board on the market. Moisture in the board can cause undesirable results to the panel and your artwork, which is why we size the board with four layers on the front before the canvas is mounted, thereby defending against moisture getting into the board and underneath your artwork.

Canvas Panels should be as flat as possible, otherwise, they don't display well in a frame, and can create spaces between the artwork and the frame. A bowed panel is also a sign of having been impacted by the effect of moisture. Canvas can shrink, even after it is mounted on the board. For this reason, Masterpiece® developed a unique proprietary process that stress-relieves each panel, thereby virtually eliminating the bow that is commonly found in competing panel products. Hardcore™ Pro Canvas Panels provide a stable foundation for your art.

The measure of a man is the way he bears up under misfortune. ♦ Plutarch

From the annals of ancient wisdom, Plutarch brings forth an observation that rings true across epochs and cultures. He doesn't define a person's worth by their triumphs or accolades, but rather by the grace and fortitude with which they face challenges. This perspective, while seemingly simple, offers a profound insight into the essence of human character.

For us in the art world, this sentiment holds a unique resonance. The path of an artist is rarely without its trials, whether they be critiques that sting, visions that fail to materialize, or the ever-present specter of self-doubt. Yet, it's how we respond to these adversities that truly defines our character and shapes our artistic identity. Every setback or criticism provides an opportunity to refine our vision, to reassess our methods, and to grow both personally and professionally.

As we navigate the complexities of our artistic endeavors, Plutarch's wisdom can serve as a compass. It reminds us that true success is not merely about accolades or recognition but about the resilience, integrity, and depth of character we cultivate along the way.
