51x97 3D Pro 3.5" Deep K3 Stretcher Frame Kit

3D™ Pro 3.5 Stretcher Bar • 1/2" Canvas Clearance

1/2" Canvas Clearance is the space between the Bar and the canvas. Generally speaking, more clearance reduces the risk of the canvas touching the wood and creating unsightly lines during painting. Our design provides the optimal clearance so as not to impact your painting, but still leaving enough wood to the maximize strength of the Stretcher Bar.

• Produces a 3.5" deep stretched canvas (Actual depth is slightly thinner)
• 1.25" wide Stretcher Bar
• All Bars have an exclusive groove on the inside perimeter of the frame to which cross braces and Diamond Corner Braces attach
• Solid Ponderosa Pine or Fir from the Pacific Northwest

No Finger Joints!

Solid Wood is far superior to finger jointed wood, which is many small pieces glued together, each with varying grain densities that absorb and shed moisture at varying rates, expanding and contracting non-uniformly as environmental conditions change, and causing the wood to bow and the finger joints to eventually fail.

A single homogeneous kiln-dried solid wood Stretcher Bar outperforms and outlasts a finger jointed Bar whose sole purpose is to save the manufacturer cost, not contribute to the archival value of artwork intended to last a millennium. As a manufacturer, Masterpiece® does its part to conserve as much wood as possible, and still provide a quality product that will out-perform any other in the marketplace.

• Super strong 3D™ Pro K3™ Stretcher Bar is a very popular among contemporary artists whose painting will be displayed without a frame.

• Provides a 3.5" deep stretched canvas which makes a bold and commanding display
• 1-1/4" wide Stretcher Bars
• All Bars have an exclusive groove on the inside perimeter of the frame to which cross braces and Diamond Corner Braces attach

Sustainability is about Reducing Deforestation

Choosing products made with sustainably sourced lumber is an important way for consumers to make a positive impact on the environment. By supporting sustainable forestry practices, we can help to reduce deforestation, promote biodiversity, and mitigate climate change. It's a simple and effective way to make a difference.

Specially Dried and Heat Treated Lumber

Our wood is handpicked from a curated group of environmentally responsible lumber mills in the Pacific Northwest. By adhering to our precise drying and heat-treatment standards, these mills produce lumber with nearly half the moisture you'd find in common home improvement outlets or lumber yards. This meticulous process not only enhances the wood's strength—minimizing risks of cracks, splits, or bends—but also elevates its dimensional stability. Such quality, despite its premium, is paramount in creating professional canvases designed to uphold the sanctity of your cherished art throughout the years.

61x107 is the Canvas Size Needed for this 51x97 Frame

Please note that you will need a canvas that is at least 10 Inches larger than the actual frame size to ensure proper stretching. This will provide ample material to stretch the canvas and attach it to the back of the frame. If you prefer to attach the canvas from the edge of the stretcher frame, you can reduce the size of your canvas by approximately 3/4" all the way around the frame. This will allow you to paint on the edge of the canvas and hang your artwork without needing a separate picture frame. And, if you ever need to remove the canvas from the frame and re-attach it, you'll have enough material to do that too.

Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive. ♦ Elbert Hubbard

Elbert Hubbard, the American writer, philosopher, and influential figure in the Arts and Crafts Movement, had a knack for offering witty and profound insights into human nature. His words often reflect a deep understanding of life's complexities juxtaposed with a humorous twist. This particular musing serves as a gentle reminder of the ephemeral nature of life and the importance of savoring its moments with a light heart.

In the vast canvas of artistic creation, this perspective holds significant resonance. When creating, it's easy to become ensnared in the weight of perfection, the anxiety of reception, or the dread of critique. Yet, if we allow ourselves to be consumed by such pressures, we might miss the joy, spontaneity, and freedom that art offers. As artists, we are given the unique privilege of expressing and evoking emotion, and it's within this process that we find the true essence of life's beauty. By embracing our work with a balance of passion and playful abandon, we can create pieces that not only showcase our skills but also capture the raw, unfiltered spirit of existence.

Hubbard's words beckon us to find joy in our art and life. By approaching our craft with a sense of humor and a recognition of life's fleeting nature, we foster an environment where creativity thrives. In doing so, we not only enrich our own experiences but also share a piece of that joy and light-heartedness with the world.
