5x7 Monet Pro Raw No 8 Canvas 1-1/2" Deep #MRE-0507

True 7:5 Photography Proportion - 5x7 Size

And 5x7, of course, is one of the most popular sizes ever in both photography and art..ever!

Another widely used proportion in photography is the 7:5 aspect ratio, but is relatively uncommon in art, save for the 5x7 size. It is commonly accepted as a pleasing proportion. Some artists choose this proportion to add visual interest by breaking away from more traditional shaped canvas sizes. There are only a handful of standard canvas sizes in this ratio, but there are a whole collection of (what we call) Lost Sizes in this aspect ratio, which are often unknown sizes that add intrigue to the final composition.

Monet™ Pro 1.5" Deep Bar • 1/2" Canvas Clearance

1/2" Canvas Clearance is the space between the Bar and the canvas. Generally speaking, more clearance reduces the risk of the canvas touching the wood and creating unsightly lines during painting. Our design provides the optimal clearance so as not to impact your painting, but still leaving enough wood to the maximize strength of the Stretcher Bar.

• Produces a 1.5" deep stretched canvas (Actual depth is slightly thinner)
• 1-5/8" wide Stretcher Bar
• Solid Ponderosa Pine or Fir from the Pacific Northwest

No Finger Joints!

Solid Wood is far superior to finger jointed wood, which is many small pieces glued together, each with varying grain densities that absorb and shed moisture at varying rates, expanding and contracting non-uniformly as environmental conditions change, and causing the wood to bow and the finger joints to eventually fail.

A single homogeneous kiln-dried solid wood Stretcher Bar outperforms and outlasts a finger jointed Bar whose sole purpose is to save the manufacturer cost, not contribute to the archival value of artwork intended to last a millennium. As a manufacturer, Masterpiece® does its part to conserve as much wood as possible, and still provide a quality product that will out-perform any other in the marketplace.

5x7 Monet Pro Strainer Frame

• Drawing depicts the exact frame construction, not the proportion
• Strainer Bars are used when the short side is under 10" inches
• Fixed Corner Frame - Not keyable or expandable
• No cross braces required when the frame length is under 20", but this frame provides very robust and solid support for this 5x7 size frame

Sustainably Managed Forests Coexist with Mankind

We use lumber grown in the sustainable forests of the Pacific Northwest, where there’s more standing timber today than last century! There will always be a demand for wood pulp and fiber, but striking a harmonious balance with human coexistence is the essential strategy to which we subscribe. Sustainably managed forests increase our health and abundance of our forests which can be in harmony with this precious natural resource.

MuseumWrap™ Stretching Technique

With more than 60 years of American engineering, Masterpiece® designs and builds its own proprietary stretching equipment that enables us to produce the finest and most tightly-stretched canvas on the market.

• Drum-tight stretch!
• Up to 50% tighter than other methods
• Balanced tension across the surface
• Uncut folded corners make it possible to remove and re-stretch canvas on the same size frame
• Usually the corner folds are on the long sides

Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value. ♦ Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein, the iconic physicist known for his groundbreaking theories, was not just a man of science, but also a profound thinker who delved deep into the nature of life, purpose, and human potential. Beyond his monumental scientific achievements, Einstein frequently pondered the essence of a meaningful life. While success often shines as a coveted goal in society's eyes, Einstein challenges this notion, urging a deeper, more enduring pursuit: value.

In the realm of art, this distinction is particularly salient. While accolades and recognition might define success, the true essence of an artist's contribution lies in the value they bring to the world. We, as artists, channel our creativity, passion, and vision into pieces that touch lives, instigate thought, and evoke emotion. The impact of a heartfelt masterpiece or a thought-provoking sculpture extends far beyond fleeting admiration. It becomes a part of cultural dialogues, inspires others, and, sometimes, even shapes the course of history.

Thus, by focusing on the value our work brings, we anchor our art career in purpose and authenticity. It's a call to look beyond transient markers of success and delve deep into what truly matters: making a difference, sparking change, and enriching the human experience. Embracing Einstein's wisdom, we find a path illuminated by purpose and lasting impact.
