Monet™ Pro 1.5" Deep Bar • 1/2" Canvas Clearance
1/2" Canvas Clearance is the space between the Bar and the canvas. Generally speaking, more clearance reduces the risk of the canvas touching the wood and creating unsightly lines during painting. Our design provides the optimal clearance so as not to impact your painting, but still leaving enough wood to the maximize strength of the Stretcher Bar.
- Produces a 1.5" deep stretched canvas (Actual depth is slightly thinner)
- 1-5/8" wide Stretcher Bar
- Solid Ponderosa Pine or Fir from the Pacific Northwest

Solid Wood is Archival - Finger Jointed Wood is Not
We only use Solid Wood to build our Stretcher Bars because a solid piece of wood will last indefinitely. When we speak of archival value, it's not just the paint you use and the quality of your canvas and ground, even the wood choices manufacturers make are part of the archival process.
The principal reason manufactures use finger jointed wood is reduce cost, not increase archival value. Wood constantly grows and shrinks when the environment becomes hotter, or colder, or more humid, or more dry. Because finger jointed wood is made-up of multiple and varied pieces of wood, with varying grain patterns and densities, they each absorb and shed moisture at varying rates, which works on the glue joints that hold them together, causing the wood to bow and the joints to eventually fail, and certainly not consistent with increasing the archival value of your artwork frame support.
As a manufacturer, we do our part to conserve as much wood as possible, and still provide a quality made product that will out-perform any other in the marketplace.

9x16 Monet Pro Strainer Frame
- Drawing depicts the exact frame construction, not the proportion
- Strainer Bars are used when the short side is under 10" inches
- Fixed Corner Frame - Not keyable or expandable
- No cross braces required when the frame length is under 20", but this frame provides very robust and solid support for this 9x16 size frame

Sustainably Managed Forests
We use lumber grown in the sustainable forests of the Oregon, Washington, and California, where thereÕs more standing timber today than last century! Our forests purify the air, provide oxygen, and reduce global warming. More trees are needed on this planet, not fewer. Therefore, we use lumber grown in responsibly managed forests, so future generations can benefit from our collective responsible actions today.

The artist's world is limitless. It can be found anywhere, far from where he lives or a few feet away. It is always on his doorstep.
♦ Auguste Rodin
The famed sculptor Auguste Rodin, known for masterpieces such as The Thinker and The Kiss, speaks of a realm unbounded by geography or physical proximity. The world he references is a canvas for imagination, available for every artist to interpret, challenge, and redefine. This world, born from observation, passion, and creativity, is not limited to the majestic or the distant. Instead, it can be as humble and immediate as the very ground upon which we stand.
In our careers, we might sometimes feel the urge to seek inspiration from far-off lands, believing that new environments can bring forth new ideas. Yet, Rodin reminds us that the essence of artistry lies not in external wonders but in our ability to see the extraordinary in the seemingly mundane. For artists, every moment, every object, every shadow can become a source of inspiration. It's about how we perceive and translate the world around us. So, even if we find ourselves stationed in a single location, we are never truly stagnant. Instead, our artistry constantly evolves, shaped by the ever-changing nuances of our surroundings.
We curated this empowering quote with some context and hope you find it insightful, plus we created this unique portrait of Auguste Rodin to make it a bit more intriguing. Now get to work on your own!
