20 Inch Panel Porter Pair with Hardware P2-20

Paint and Carry Any Size You Like!

Panel Porter™ is a simple, versatile, and economical wet panel carrier that provides the most secure transport of your precious artwork available on the market. Insert your wet painted panels face-to-face in a wooden frame designed with metal pins that lock each corner. Air holes allow your painting to breathe while you transport your artwork.

One of the celebrated features of this product is they liberate artists to paint any size panels they want. Since Panel Porter™ are sold in sizes "every inch," you can paint any size panel you want and still can safely transport your artwork. You are not limited to only a handful of standard sizes that are commonly available.

For example, combine this 20" size with an additional 20" Porter™, and you can paint and carry two 20x20 Canvas Panels. Or combine this 20 size with 9"" size and you can paint and port an 9x20, which happens to be a Ã5:1 Dynamic Root-5 Rectangle size.

The Dynamic Root-5 rectangle is an inspiring proportion based on organizing your spatial composition with endless symmetrical divisions. The premise in Jay Hambridge's 1926 book is that the Dynamic Symmetry of individual elements are informed by their relationship to the entire composition. This very special proportion is guided by the square roots of integers and has a storied and historical basis in art.

It involves the use of geometric shapes and patterns in the proportion of the square root of 5 to 1 to create balance and harmony in a composition. This can be achieved by dividing a composition into a grid of squares or rectangles, and then placing elements within the grid in a way that follows the principles of dynamic symmetry. Dynamic symmetry is often used to create a sense of order and structure in a composition, and can be particularly useful for creating compositions that are harmonious and pleasing to the eye.

With a small collection of Porter™ sizes, you can mix-and-match to create a variety of canvas panel carriers making it easy for you to paint and carry sizes that you have never before tried. Masterpiece® has 75 standard canvas panel sizes, including proportions like the Golden Mean, Squares, HDTV, Root Rectangles, Fibonacci sizes, and many more!

Panel Porter™ Profile View

Making your artwork as secure as possible is one of the key features and benefits of our unique wet panel carrier. Panel Porter™ transports two 1/8" thick wet panels, face to face. If you only paint one panel, then insert a dry panel in the other slot. The panels are spaced 1/2" apart, thereby providing adequate distance between the two paintings.

The inside groove of Panel Porter™ is tapered, which consequently barely touches the panel only at the extreme outside edge of the panel and thereby does not harm your artwork.

To assemble Panel Porter™, simply fit three Porter Bars together to form a U-Shape. There are two types of hardware. The brass clasps are for quick and easy assembly, and locking pins are the most secure method to secure the Porter frame. We recommend using the locking pins to construct the U-Shaped frame. Doing so makes it easier to prevent the Porter Bars from spreading open, in fact, using a screwdriver or a US Dime, tighten the corners firmly, so as the Porter Bars are as close to square as possible.

Holding the panel with one hand and with the art work facing up, slide the panel into the lower track of the U-Shape Porter. This is easier when the Porter bars do not spread apart, which is why we recommend using the locking pins to tightly hold the frame together.

Once you have the panel in the lower track, simply slide it in and try to keep the Porter Bars from spreading apart as you do this. You will notice that the Porter Bars have an angled track so as not to touch or harm your artwork.

Flip over the Panel Porter™ making sure that the Bars do not spread apart. Try to hold the Porter wood Bars and not touch your wet painting. This is easier when the Porter Bars do not spread apart.

In order to carry your wet panel inside Panel Porter™, you need a second panel to protect your artwork. If you only painted one panel, then you will need a second panel that is dry, or even one that is still in the celophane package. Either way, simply slide-in the second panel into the lower track.

When both panels are inserted into the U-Shape Porter, simply attach the remaining fourth Bar and squeeze it all together. You can insert the metal locking pins which becomes the most secure carrier on the market. Or you can insert the brass clasps, which is quicker to install, but not as secure. For short distances, they work fine in most cases.

Once you've locked-up Panel Porter™, you can put it in your backpack and go! The wood frame provides excellent protection for the edges of your panels. There are holes in the corners that allow your painting to degas while the artwork is inside the frame.

The missionary is no longer on speaking terms with the ladies of the Pomares family; he wants to convert them to the regime of shirts. But it's quite cold in a wet shirt. Besides, aren't they much prettier this way? ♦ Paul Gauguin

During his time in Tahiti, Paul Gauguin was continuously intrigued by the collision of cultures, especially the push and pull between European norms and Polynesian traditions. The clash he alludes to in this quote speaks to the broader themes of cultural assimilation and the judgments that often arise when one culture confronts another. For Gauguin, the natural beauty and simplicity of Tahitian life had an allure that often contrasted with European rigidity and decorum.

Similarly, in the world of art, there's a parallel between the imposition of external norms and the artist's inherent desire for freedom. Just as Gauguin found beauty in the traditional ways of the Tahitian people, we, too, should remember that true beauty often lies in authenticity and unfiltered expression. Rather than bending to the confines of societal expectations, the heart of artistry is in celebrating and capturing the essence of our subjects as they are, seeing the world through our own lenses, and appreciating the myriad of perspectives it has to offer.

We've handpicked this quote and our interpretation of it's meaning to inspire your art. And we honor the legacy of Paul Gauguin by creating this one-of-a-kind portrait to tie it all together. Start Painting!
