Stretching your own canvas is a great way to have complete command of the process from start to finish. Once your canvas is fully stretched, and if you notice any puckers or loosely tensioned areas, or perhaps even slight waves, you can always rely upon Tight'n'Up™ Liquid Canvas Retensioner to correct any inconsistencies in the canvas tension. You can be sprayed on the back of a canvas to repair most canvas tension issues.
