Vegan Ground:
There are no animal products that make-up the sizing and the primer for this fine canvas. Historically, traditional canvas grounds have included egg tempura, pigments with cow urine, and of course, rabbit skin glue. In today's rapidly advancing world, there are many more choices available for artists who prefer non-animal based products that perform far better than their animal-based predecessors.

Tight'n'Up™ Liquid Canvas Retensioner
Stretching your own canvas is a great way to have complete command of the process from start to finish. Once your canvas is fully stretched, and if you notice any puckers or loosely tensioned areas, or perhaps even slight waves, you can always rely upon Tight'n'Up™ Liquid Canvas Retensioner to correct any inconsistencies in the canvas tension. You can be sprayed on the back of a canvas to repair most canvas tension issues.
With Tight'n'Up™, you can add tension to just a small area, or a large area. Simply spray it lightly on the back and brush it into the canvas, and within seconds, your canvas becomes tighter and stays tighter. The more you use, the tighter it gets.

A picture is a stage one looks at, a physical and spiritual vibration.
♦ Robert Delaunay
While some may consider Robert Delaunay as merely a pivotal figure in the Orphic Cubism movement, his perception of art transcended mere forms and patterns. Delaunay perceived art as a convergence of energies, a pulsating dance of physical and ethereal elements. To him, a canvas was not just a passive recipient of colors and shapes; it was an active theater of emotions, memories, and aspirations.
When artists approach their work, there's an almost palpable electricity in the air, a resonance that is felt as much as seen. The blank canvas comes alive, echoing the artist's heartbeat, dreams, and fears. Each stroke, whether bold or delicate, serves as a note in an orchestrated symphony of creativity. It's a testament to the idea that the act of creation is a multi-sensory experience, connecting the tangible with the intangible, the seen with the unseen.
The beauty of this perspective is the encouragement it provides us. If we can envision our creations as stages, alive with a myriad of vibrations, then the possibilities become limitless. It's a call to infuse our art with our essence, knowing that every piece we craft sends ripples through the physical and spiritual realms. It beckons us to not merely create, but to breathe life into our art, making it a conduit for our innermost passions and reflections.
We hope you will be inspired by the wisdom, and our interpretation thereof, of Robert Delaunay, plus we made this unique little portrait to begin the creative process. Time to start your creative process!
