Vegan Ground:

There are no animal products that make-up the sizing and the primer for this fine canvas. Historically, traditional canvas grounds have included egg tempura, pigments with cow urine, and of course, rabbit skin glue. In today's rapidly advancing world, there are many more choices available for artists who prefer non-animal based products that perform far better than their animal-based predecessors.

Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) Primer Pigment

This primer contains premium-grade Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) white pigment, renowned for its exceptional performance in acrylic priming. Its standout feature is its enduring whiteness, coupled with remarkable flexibility that persists over time. In contrast to other pigments such as zinc dioxide, Titanium Dioxide maintains its resilience, preventing brittleness as it ages. This quality ensures that artworks retain their integrity and will stand the test of time.

The great difficulty with large canvases is that they should by right be painted as fast as a sketch. By speed only can you gain an appearance of fleeting effect. ♦ George Inness

George Inness, revered for his ability to evoke mood and atmosphere in his landscape paintings, understood the intrinsic challenges of working on expansive canvases. A larger canvas might appear as an opportunity for a prolonged engagement, but Inness saw the trap: the risk of overthinking and losing the spontaneous spirit that often defines a piece's soul. It's a sentiment that many artists have felt - that compelling need to swiftly transcribe an emotion or vision before its raw intensity fades.

It isn't just about the physical act of painting but capturing a transient feeling or moment in time. In our endeavors to recreate these ephemeral moments, speed becomes our ally. Quick strokes, immediate decisions, and a fearless approach help breathe life and authenticity into our works. This perspective from Inness serves as a gentle reminder that sometimes, the most genuine essence of art is found in the fleeting moments we strive to capture, urging us to trust our instincts and embrace the rapid flow of creativity.
