Vincent™ Pro means a 7/8" deep canvas that is stretched using our MuseumWrap™ back-stapled method with folded corners. Our proprietary stretching process uses pneumatically controlled machines that we built to yield drum-tight tension. True 2:1 Domino Proportion - 6x12 Size
6x12 is one of our popular Domino 2:1 sizes.
The 2:1 aspect ratio, that we call the domino proportion, also offers a unique canvas for artists to play with the perception of space and depth within their compositions. The elongated format allows for the inclusion of foreground, middle ground, and background elements, creating a sense of distance and scale that draws the viewer's eye into the artwork. This aspect ratio has been used by artists throughout history, from ancient Egyptian tomb paintings to Renaissance frescoes to contemporary photography. Its versatility and timelessness make it a classic choice for artists seeking to create dynamic and engaging compositions.

Vegan Ground:
There are no animal products that make-up the sizing and the primer for this fine canvas. Historically, traditional canvas grounds have included egg tempura, pigments with cow urine, and of course, rabbit skin glue. In today's rapidly advancing world, there are many more choices available for artists who prefer non-animal based products that perform far better than their animal-based predecessors.
Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) Primer Pigment
This primer contains premium-grade Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) white pigment, renowned for its exceptional performance in acrylic priming. Its standout feature is its enduring whiteness, coupled with remarkable flexibility that persists over time. In contrast to other pigments such as zinc dioxide, Titanium Dioxide maintains its resilience, preventing brittleness as it ages. This quality ensures that artworks retain their integrity and will stand the test of time.
Vincent™ Pro 7/8" Deep Bar • 5/16" Canvas Clearance
5/16" Canvas Clearance is the space between the Bar and the canvas. Generally speaking, more clearance reduces the risk of the canvas touching the wood and creating unsightly lines during painting. Our design provides the optimal clearance so as not to impact your painting, but still leaving enough wood to the maximize strength of the Stretcher Bar.
- Produces a 7/8" deep stretched canvas
- 1.5" wide Stretcher Bar
- Solid Ponderosa Pine or Fir from the Pacific Northwest
Finger Jointed Wood is not meant for Stretcher Bars
Solid wood makes the most dependable Stretcher Bar, because one homogeneous wood member is going to behave similarly across the entire length of the Bar. Whereas, with finger-jointed wood is made-up of multiple pieces of wood, sometimes on the actual joint itself, presenting multiple points of failure which no one can control.
We only use Solid Wood to build our Stretcher Bars because a solid piece of wood will last indefinitely. When we speak of archival value, it's not just the paint you use and the quality of your canvas and ground, even the wood choices manufacturers add or reduce value to your final painting. The fact is, you don't want problems, and finger joints only increase that risk of the wood falling apart in the future.
The glue used to bind finger joints is a water based adhesive and when that wood is exposed to high humidity environments, particularly with exterior walls, the glue joints can give-up. As a manufacturer, Masterpiece® does its part to conserve as much wood as possible, and still provide a quality product that will out-perform any other in the marketplace.

I applied streaks and blobs of colors onto the canvas with a palette knife, and I made them sing with all the intensity I could….
♦ Wassily Kandinsky
Wassily Kandinsky, often heralded as the pioneer of abstract art, was not just a painter, but a symphonist of color. His approach to his canvas was akin to a maestro composing an orchestra, where every hue had its own note, rhythm, and voice. This quote captures a moment of raw, fervent creativity; a moment when Kandinsky wasn't just applying color but was orchestrating a visual melody.
Many artists can empathize with this sentiment. When we immerse ourselves in our work, the materials we use become extensions of our emotions and intentions. A palette knife isn't just a tool; it becomes the conductor's baton, guiding the chorus of colors to create harmonies and contrasts, evoking emotions and thoughts in those who witness the final piece. It reminds us that art is more than technique; it's about pouring our soul into every movement, making each streak and blob sing, and expressing our innermost emotions with fervor and authenticity.
Journey with us as we blend the wisdom and our own artistic representation of Wassily Kandinsky. May this alliance empower your artistic soul. Begin your masterpiece!
