6x8 Vincent Pro Strainer Frame

  • Drawing depicts the exact frame construction, not the proportion
  • Strainer Bars are used when the short side is under 8" inches
  • Fixed Corner Frame - Not keyable or expandable
  • No cross braces required when the frame length is under 16"
  • Frame is very sturdy and provides a solid support for this 6x8 size frame

Vincent™ Pro 7/8" Deep Bar • 5/16" Canvas Clearance

5/16" Canvas Clearance is the space between the Bar and the canvas. Generally speaking, more clearance reduces the risk of the canvas touching the wood and creating unsightly lines during painting. Our design provides the optimal clearance so as not to impact your painting, but still leaving enough wood to the maximize strength of the Stretcher Bar.

  • Produces a 7/8" deep stretched canvas
  • 1.5" wide Stretcher Bar
  • Solid Ponderosa Pine or Fir from the Pacific Northwest

No Finger Joints!

Solid Wood is far superior to finger jointed wood, which is many small pieces glued together, each with varying grain densities that absorb and shed moisture at varying rates, expanding and contracting non-uniformly as environmental conditions change, and causing the wood to bow and the finger joints to eventually fail.

A single homogeneous kiln-dried solid wood Stretcher Bar outperforms and outlasts a finger jointed Bar whose sole purpose is to save the manufacturer cost, not contribute to the archival value of artwork intended to last a millennium. As a manufacturer, Masterpiece® does its part to conserve as much wood as possible, and still provide a quality product that will out-perform any other in the marketplace.

Sustainably Managed Forests Inhale and Exhale

The world's forests are essential to human survival. Forests inhale carbon dioxide for the earth, and exhale oxygen essential for life. When we speak of the sustainable forest strategy of ensuring that more timber will exist in the same forest land than exists today, this is the only viable plan for the future of humanity. For this reason, we use only lumber from the sustainable forests of Oregon, Washington, and California, where thereÕs more standing timber today than last century!

MuseumWrap™ Stretching Technique

With more than a half a century of American engineering, Masterpiece® designs and builds its own proprietary stretching equipment that enables us to produce the finest and most tightly-stretched canvas on the market.

  • Drum-tight stretch!
  • Up to 50% tighter than other methods
  • Balanced tension across the surface
  • Uncut folded corners make it possible to remove and re-stretch canvas on the same size frame
  • Usually the corner folds are on the long sides

Our unwavering commitment at Masterpiece® is to produce only the finest, which has made us the vanguard in the world of professional fine-art canvas. Explore our extensive range of surfaces and roll sizes to find the perfect fit for your next creation.

The chief function of color should be to serve expression. ♦ Robert Delaunay

Robert Delaunay's career was distinguished by a passionate exploration of color and its powerful ability to convey emotions and ideas. His belief in the emotive potency of color wasn't just a fleeting thought; it was the bedrock upon which his artistic innovations stood. For Delaunay, color was more than mere aesthetic—it was a language, a form of communication that transcended words.

Artists often find themselves at crossroads, questioning the role of various elements in their creations. What should be the driving force? Technique, form, or color? But, for Delaunay, it was clear. He saw color as a servant to expression. Just as a writer selects words with precision to evoke certain feelings or images, artists choose shades and hues to manifest their innermost thoughts and emotions on canvas. We wield our palettes, not just to beautify, but to communicate, to give voice to our inner landscapes.

So, while selecting hues for our next masterpiece, let's remember Delaunay's wisdom. Let us not be overwhelmed by the myriad of choices but choose with intention. For in the dance of colors, it's the emotion and expression that take the lead, guiding us to produce art that speaks, resonates, and moves the soul.

We curated this insightful quote by Robert Delaunay, and our interpretation thereof; plus we made this portrait in the spirit of creativity. Time to create your own expression!
