10x16 Hardcore Pro Saint-Cloud Plein Air Canvas Panel #HD-1016

True Golden Mean Proportion - 10x16 Size

This 10x16 size is one of our Golden Mean sizes, considered the most pleasing shape to the eye!

The Golden Ratio, also known as the Golden Mean or Divine Proportion, is considered the most aesthetically pleasing proportion to the human eye. Used in art and architecture for thousands of years, countless examples can be found in nature, plant life, galaxies, and the human body. It is often used as a guide to arrange your subjects on the canvas in concert with other Golden Mean shapes like an ellipse, star, triangle, and spiral, resulting in intriguing compositions. Many famous artists, such as Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Mondrian, Botticelli, Dali, and Seurat, have used this proportion in their art, and many contemporary artists continue to use it exclusively. If you're looking for a challenge or some inspiration, consider using a canvas in the proportion of the Golden Mean to create compositions that come alive in the most intriguing and eye-catching ways!

Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) Primer Pigment

This primer contains premium-grade Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) white pigment, renowned for its exceptional performance in acrylic priming. In contrast to other pigments such as zinc dioxide, Titanium Dioxide maintains its resilience, preventing brittleness as it ages. This quality ensures that artworks retain their integrity and will stand the test of time.

Our Hardcore™ Pro Pro Canvas Panels are the flattest on the market. They are made using MDF (medium density fiberboard) which is the highest quality engineered wood board on the market. Moisture in the board can cause undesirable results to the panel and your artwork, which is why we size the board with four layers on the front before the canvas is mounted, thereby defending against moisture getting into the board and underneath your artwork.

Canvas Panels should be as flat as possible, otherwise, they don't display well in a frame, and can create spaces between the artwork and the frame. A bowed panel is also a sign of having been impacted by the effect of moisture. Canvas can shrink, even after it is mounted on the board. For this reason, Masterpiece® developed a unique proprietary process that stress-relieves each panel, thereby virtually eliminating the bow that is commonly found in competing panel products. Hardcore™ Pro Canvas Panels provide a stable foundation for your art.

I have touched with a sense of art some people – they felt the love and the life. ♦ Mary Cassatt

Mary Cassatt's life was characterized by a deep-seated passion for conveying intimate moments and the intricate tapestry of human relationships. Her art, often spotlighting the bond between mothers and their children, conveyed profound emotion and evoked powerful reactions from viewers. With this quote, she encapsulates the essence of what it means to create art that moves: the ability to touch the souls of others, making them feel both love and the vibrancy of life itself.

This sentiment underscores the transformative power we wield through our creations. Art is not just about technique or aesthetics; it's about channeling emotions, stories, and experiences in a way that resonates with others. When our work manages to bridge the gap between our intentions and the audience's reception, it's a testament to the universal language of art. And in these moments of connection, we're reminded of the profound impact our craft can have on the world around us.
