5x7 Hardcore Pro Pau Plein Air Canvas Panel #HP-0507

True 7:5 Photography Proportion - 5x7 Size

And 5x7, of course, is one of the most popular sizes ever in both photography and art..ever!

Another widely used proportion in photography is the 7:5 aspect ratio, but is relatively uncommon in art, save for the 5x7 size. It is commonly accepted as a pleasing proportion. Some artists choose this proportion to add visual interest by breaking away from more traditional shaped canvas sizes. There are only a handful of standard canvas sizes in this ratio, but there are a whole collection of (what we call) Lost Sizes in this aspect ratio, which are often unknown sizes that add intrigue to the final composition.

Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) Primer Pigment

This primer contains premium-grade Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) white pigment, renowned for its exceptional performance in acrylic priming. Its standout feature is its enduring whiteness, coupled with remarkable flexibility that persists over time. In contrast to other pigments such as zinc dioxide, Titanium Dioxide maintains its resilience, preventing brittleness as it ages. This quality ensures that artworks retain their integrity and will stand the test of time.

Artfix Pau™ Portrait Smooth Belgian Linen offers a luxurious surface, ideal for highly detailed work. Preferred by portrait artists because it is so smooth for linen. Due to the nature of how flax plants are turned into linen textiles, there may be variations in yarn thickness thereby creating fabric that is individual in nature and has character. There can be infrequent naturally occurring nubs in the linen which may yield small slight bumps where the linen is a little thicker than the rest of the strand. This is normal and part of what gives linen its character.

Our Hardcore™ Pro Pro Canvas Panels are the flattest on the market. They are made using MDF (medium density fiberboard) which is the highest quality engineered wood board on the market. Moisture in the board can cause undesirable results to the panel and your artwork, which is why we size the board with four layers on the front before the canvas is mounted, thereby defending against moisture getting into the board and underneath your artwork.

Canvas Panels should be as flat as possible, otherwise, they don't display well in a frame, and can create spaces between the artwork and the frame. A bowed panel is also a sign of having been impacted by the effect of moisture. Canvas can shrink, even after it is mounted on the board. For this reason, Masterpiece® developed a unique proprietary process that stress-relieves each panel, thereby virtually eliminating the bow that is commonly found in competing panel products. Hardcore™ Pro Canvas Panels provide a stable foundation for your art.

Art is born of the observation and investigation of nature. ♦ Cicero

In the bustling forums of ancient Rome, amidst grand orations and political debates, Cicero profoundly recognized the inseparable bond between art and nature. His insight, although rooted in an age far removed from our digital era, remains strikingly relevant. Nature, with its unfathomable depths, endless intricacies, and awe-inspiring beauty, has always been a muse for those with an artistic inclination. It's within the soft hues of a sunset, the intricate patterns of foliage, or the majestic roar of the oceans, that artists often find their most profound inspirations.

For us, the process of creating is not merely about reproducing what we see but about delving deep into nature's secrets, understanding its rhythms, and translating that understanding into our work. Through observation, we learn the nuances of light and shadow, the way colors blend, and the intricate dance of lines and forms. Through investigation, we challenge our perceptions, question the obvious, and uncover layers of meaning hidden beneath the surface. Nature becomes not just a subject of our art but a teacher, guiding our hands and hearts as we seek to capture its essence. Cicero's words serve as a timeless reminder: as we immerse ourselves in the beauty and mysteries of the world around us, we tap into the very source from which true art flows.
