The collection is particularly distinguished by its Belgian linen weaves, varying from fine-tooth, quad-primed linens to the characteristic Belgian "handkerchief" linen textures. This range extends to robust, heavy-toothed linens, perfect for large-scale artistic creations.
Each canvas undergoes meticulous preparation, starting with up to two layers of a specially formulated collagen and acrylic copolymer sizing. This crucial step ensures complete isolation of the fabric from the acidic nature of primers and paints. Subsequently, the canvases are primed with one to six layers of either oil-based or acrylic universal primer.
Artfix's acrylic universal primer represents a harmonious blend of modern and traditional priming techniques, offering many of the absorbent characteristics of oil-based primers, but with a ground that remains flexible over time and accepts a wide variety of paint types.
