Monet™ Pro 1.5" Deep Bar • 1/2" Canvas Clearance
1/2" Canvas Clearance is the space between the Bar and the canvas. Generally speaking, more clearance reduces the risk of the canvas touching the wood and creating unsightly lines during painting. Our design provides the optimal clearance so as not to impact your painting, but still leaving enough wood to the maximize strength of the Stretcher Bar.
- Produces a 1.5" deep stretched canvas (Actual depth is slightly thinner)
- 1-5/8" wide Stretcher Bar
- Solid Ponderosa Pine or Fir from the Pacific Northwest
No Finger Joints!
Solid Wood is far superior to finger jointed wood, which is many small pieces glued together, each with varying grain densities that absorb and shed moisture at varying rates, expanding and contracting non-uniformly as environmental conditions change, and causing the wood to bow and the finger joints to eventually fail.
A single homogeneous kiln-dried solid wood Stretcher Bar outperforms and outlasts a finger jointed Bar whose sole purpose is to save the manufacturer cost, not contribute to the archival value of artwork intended to last a millennium. As a manufacturer, Masterpiece® does its part to conserve as much wood as possible, and still provide a quality product that will out-perform any other in the marketplace.
5x8 Monet Pro Strainer Frame
- Drawing depicts the exact frame construction, not the proportion
- Strainer Bars are used when the short side is under 10" inches
- Fixed Corner Frame - Not keyable or expandable
- No cross braces required when the frame length is under 20", but this frame provides very robust and solid support for this 5x8 size frame
Sustainable Forests - A Precious Natural Resource
The air that we breathe depends upon our healthy forests the world over. For this reason, we only use lumber from the sustainable forests of the Pacific Northwest, so we can guarantee that our nation's precious natural timber resources are available for future generations.
MuseumWrap™ Stretching Technique
With more than a half a century of American engineering, Masterpiece® designs and builds its own proprietary stretching equipment that enables us to produce the finest and most tightly-stretched canvas on the market.
- Drum-tight stretch!
- Up to 50% tighter than other methods
- Balanced tension across the surface
- Uncut folded corners make it possible to remove and re-stretch canvas on the same size frame
- Usually the corner folds are on the long sides
Monet™ Pro Professional canvases are built one-by-one and stretched using our proprietary stretching process called, MuseumWrap™, which relies on in-house custom-built pneumatic machinery that delivers consistently drum-tight stretched canvas, balanced tension across the canvas surface, neatly folded uncut corners, and paintable edges. It is the absolute best way to stretch a canvas.
One must not imitate the sun, one must become the sun.
♦ Euge_ne Delacroix
Eugé ne Delacroix, a pillar of the Romantic movement, was known not just for his exceptional artistic skills, but also for his profound philosophical insights on art. With the dramatic play of light and shadow characterizing his works, Delacroix's statement serves as a beacon for those of us navigating our artistic paths.
To Delacroix, authenticity in art wasn't merely about replicating what one observed. It was about deeply internalizing the essence of the subject and letting that essence permeate one's work. The sun, a universal symbol of radiance and energy, is more than just its bright facade. For artists to merely mimic its appearance would be a superficial endeavor. Instead, Delacroix urges us to embody its warmth, its luminosity, and its centrality in our creations.
In the realm of art, authenticity and originality distinguish good from great. While techniques can be learned and styles can be adapted, the soul of a piece emerges when the artist injects a part of themselves into the work. As we create, let us not just draw or paint the sun, but let's infuse our art with the warmth and passion that makes the sun the revered celestial body it is.
We believe in the power of words to inspire, and the magic of art to connect. Enjoy this meaningful quote with contextual background, and admire our unique rendition of Euge_ne Delacroix to complement your imagination. Get busy on your next composition!
