Pro Round Tahoe™ 10oz Acrylic Primed Cotton Canvas 3/4 Inch Deep VOT-2424

Buy a 4-pack and save cost and shipping!

Masterpiece® Monet Pro Canvas is several steps ahead of any other shaped canvas on the market. The frames are made with MDF (medium density fiberboard), which is highest quality engineered wood on the market.

We use a heavy 10 oz. triple primed canvas. We stretch it drum-tight, and we staple the canvas on the back, which is a painstaking process, but allows you to remove the canvas from the frame, if you ever need to do so. No other shaped canvas on the market offers all of these benefits and features on shaped canvases.

Tahoe™ 10oz Acrylic Primed Cotton

Strikes the perfect balance between medium & heavy weight cottons; substantially heavier than most widely available canvas, but it is supple and forgiving to the brush.
  • 100% Cotton 10 oz; Primed Weight 14.6 oz per square yard
  • Heavy Weight, Medium Weave, Medium Texture
  • Sized and Triple Primed with acid-free archival quality acrylic gesso
  • Impenetrable ground prevents oil paint from leaching through and harming the canvas
  • For acrylics, oils, alkyds, and water miscible oil paints

Vegan Ground:

There are no animal products that make-up the sizing and the primer for this fine canvas. Historically, traditional canvas grounds have included egg tempura, pigments with cow urine, and of course, rabbit skin glue. In today's rapidly advancing world, there are many more choices available for artists who prefer non-animal based products that perform far better than their animal-based predecessors.

Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) Primer Pigment

Our primer is made with the highest-quality Titanium Dioxide white pigment, which is an excellent pigment for acrylic primed grounds, providing superior whiteness and maintaining excellent flexibility over time. Unlike some other common pigments, such as zinc dioxide, TiO2 doesn't become brittle as it ages, helping to ensure that your painting will stand the test of time.

Professionally Stretched Shaped Canvas Drum Tight

Masterpiece® Monet Pro shaped canvases are stretched drum-tight and stapled on the back, making it possible for you to remove the canvas from the frame, should you ever need to do that. Our product is unique in the marketplace and offers a superior method of stretching that allows you to remove and restretch the canvas onto this or another similarly shaped frame without losing part of your painting. We provide enough canvas selvage to make it possible to restretch, should it ever be necessary.

1/8" Canvas Clearance

The canvas is 3/4" deep and has a minimum of 1/8" clearance between the canvas and the frame to help prevent the ghosting that occurs when applying pressure to the canvas and it touches the frame. Adequate clearance between the canvas and the frame is essential to prevent the tracing of the inside perimeter of the frame on your painting. This is a unique Masterpiece® feature for a shaped canvas.

Since its inception in 1965, Masterpiece® has been at the forefront of crafting superior artist canvases in North America. The canvas acts as a canvas for an artist's vision, transforming mere materials into invaluable masterpieces. Elevate your artwork with the right base; after all, its longevity speaks volumes about your brand and legacy.

Impression! Soleil Levant! - from which we come to be called Impressionists. ♦ Claude Monet

Claude Monet's exclamation, referring to his own painting, Impression, Sunrise, gave birth to a movement that would revolutionize the world of art. Monet, with his dedication to capturing the fleeting nuances of light, found himself at odds with the rigid, detail-oriented academic style of his time. Instead of painting historical or mythological scenes, Monet and his peers chose the transient moments of nature and life, showcasing them with bold brush strokes and vibrant colors.

This innovative approach wasn't initially met with praise. Critics and traditionalists alike dismissed the Impressionists as mere amateurs. Yet, it was precisely this audacity, this willingness to challenge conventions, that makes Impressionism resonate with us today. For artists, this teaches us that innovation often faces resistance. But by staying true to our vision and embracing new methods and perspectives, we can redefine boundaries and inspire future generations to see the world in a new light.

We hope you will be inspired by the wisdom, and our interpretation thereof, of Claude Monet, plus we made this unique little portrait to begin the creative process. Time to start your creative process!
