Pro Round Tahoe™ 10oz Acrylic Primed Cotton Canvas 3/4 Inch Deep VOT-3232

Masterpiece® Monet Pro Canvas is several steps ahead of any other shaped canvas on the market. The frames are made with MDF (medium density fiberboard), which is highest quality engineered wood on the market.

We use a heavy 10 oz. triple primed canvas. We stretch it drum-tight, and we staple the canvas on the back, which is a painstaking process, but allows you to remove the canvas from the frame, if you ever need to do so. No other shaped canvas on the market offers all of these benefits and features on shaped canvases.

Tahoe™ 10oz Acrylic Primed Cotton

Strikes the perfect balance between medium & heavy weight cottons; substantially heavier than most widely available canvas, but it is supple and forgiving to the brush.
  • 100% Cotton 10 oz; Primed Weight 14.6 oz per square yard
  • Heavy Weight, Medium Weave, Medium Texture
  • Sized and Triple Primed with acid-free archival quality acrylic gesso
  • Impenetrable ground prevents oil paint from leaching through and harming the canvas
  • For acrylics, oils, alkyds, and water miscible oil paints

Vegan Ground:

There are no animal products that make-up the sizing and the primer for this fine canvas. Historically, traditional canvas grounds have included egg tempura, pigments with cow urine, and of course, rabbit skin glue. In today's rapidly advancing world, there are many more choices available for artists who prefer non-animal based products that perform far better than their animal-based predecessors.

Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) Primer Pigment

Our primer is made with the highest-quality Titanium Dioxide white pigment, which is an excellent pigment for acrylic primed grounds, providing superior whiteness and maintaining excellent flexibility over time. Unlike some other common pigments, such as zinc dioxide, TiO2 doesn't become brittle as it ages, helping to ensure that your painting will stand the test of time.

Professionally Stretched Shaped Canvas Drum Tight

Masterpiece® Monet Pro shaped canvases are stretched drum-tight and stapled on the back, making it possible for you to remove the canvas from the frame, should you ever need to do that. Our product is unique in the marketplace and offers a superior method of stretching that allows you to remove and restretch the canvas onto this or another similarly shaped frame without losing part of your painting. We provide enough canvas selvage to make it possible to restretch, should it ever be necessary.

1/8" Canvas Clearance

The canvas is 3/4" deep and has a minimum of 1/8" clearance between the canvas and the frame to help prevent the ghosting that occurs when applying pressure to the canvas and it touches the frame. Adequate clearance between the canvas and the frame is essential to prevent the tracing of the inside perimeter of the frame on your painting. This is a unique Masterpiece® feature for a shaped canvas.

Guided by our mission to provide unparalleled quality, Masterpiece® stands as the nation's prime influencer in the domain of professional fine-art canvases. Dive into our diverse collection of surfaces and roll sizes tailored for every artist's unique requirements.

Every man is a damn fool for at least five minutes every day; wisdom consists in not exceeding the limit. ♦ Elbert Hubbard

Elbert Hubbard, an influential writer, and philosopher of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, was known for his witty and insightful remarks. His works often illuminated the quirks of human nature, inviting readers to confront and embrace their imperfections. This particular musing humorously acknowledges that none of us are immune to bouts of folly.

We often find ourselves on the fringes of conventional thinking, daring to experiment, and occasionally faltering in our pursuits. It's in these vulnerable moments, these five-minute lapses, that creativity often thrives. For isn't it through our mistakes, our unplanned brush strokes or errant lines, that new avenues of expression emerge? Hubbard's observation encourages us to accept those moments of foolishness, to lean into them, but also to recognize the importance of restraint and reflection.

The duality of the artistic process requires both unbridled imagination and discerning judgment. While we allow ourselves the freedom to explore, we also exercise wisdom in refining our creations. In essence, Hubbard's words serve as a gentle reminder that balance, in folly and wisdom alike, is a key component of both art and life.

As we honor the legacy of Elbert Hubbard, we've created our own portrait as well as pass along these words of wisdom and our take on the message. Get to work on yours!
