8x24 Hardcore Pro Saint-Cloud Plein Air Canvas Panel #HD-0824

True 3:1 Panorama Proportion - 8x24 Size

This unique 8x24 is actually a fairly common 3:1 proportion used in art and cinema.

The 3:1 Panorama a proportion is preferred by many artists who require a super wide compositional format. Of course, this proportion is popularized by photographers and cinematographers, for ultra landscape and wide angled imagery that creates a sense of scope and grandeur in a scene, like cityscapes, ocean and mountain scenes, and scenes with expansive horizons. It is described as a polyomino proportion on the order of 3 or triple-square proportion. There are several common Panorama sizes in this 3:1 aspect ratio that you will recognize, and some are intriguing custom sizes, as well.

Our Hardcore™ Pro Pro Canvas Panels are the flattest on the market. They are made using MDF (medium density fiberboard) which is the highest quality engineered wood board on the market. Moisture in the board can cause undesirable results to the panel and your artwork, which is why we size the board with four layers on the front before the canvas is mounted, thereby defending against moisture getting into the board and underneath your artwork.

Canvas Panels should be as flat as possible, otherwise, they don't display well in a frame, and can create spaces between the artwork and the frame. A bowed panel is also a sign of having been impacted by the effect of moisture. Canvas can shrink, even after it is mounted on the board. For this reason, Masterpiece® developed a unique proprietary process that stress-relieves each panel, thereby virtually eliminating the bow that is commonly found in competing panel products. Hardcore™ Pro Canvas Panels provide a stable foundation for your art.

Where did I learn to understand sculpture? In the woods by looking at the trees, along roads by observing the formation of clouds, in the studio by studying the model, everywhere except in the schools. ♦ Mary Cassatt

Mary Cassatt's keen observation of the world around her distinguished her as not just a painter, but as an artist with a profound understanding of form and structure. Her words shed light on an invaluable truth: often, the most profound lessons are absorbed outside conventional classrooms. Nature, with its boundless beauty and organic patterns, served as her primary school, teaching her to appreciate the nuances of form and the poetry of lines.

For many of us, this revelation serves as a reminder to look beyond the confines of our studios or prescribed learning environments. It underscores the significance of unguided exploration, of finding inspiration in the everyday, and embracing learning in all its myriad forms. In doing so, we can unlock a deeper appreciation for our craft, inspired by the world's natural wonders and the beauty in simplicity.
