8x24 Hardcore Pro Sausalito Plein Air Canvas Panel #HS-0824

True 3:1 Panorama Proportion - 8x24 Size

This unique 8x24 is actually a fairly common 3:1 proportion used in art and cinema.

The 3:1 Panorama a proportion is preferred by many artists who require a super wide compositional format. Of course, this proportion is popularized by photographers and cinematographers, for ultra landscape and wide angled imagery that creates a sense of scope and grandeur in a scene, like cityscapes, ocean and mountain scenes, and scenes with expansive horizons. It is described as a polyomino proportion on the order of 3 or triple-square proportion. There are several common Panorama sizes in this 3:1 aspect ratio that you will recognize, and some are intriguing custom sizes, as well.

Vegan Ground:

There are no animal products that make-up the sizing and the primer for this fine canvas. Historically, traditional canvas grounds have included egg tempura, pigments with cow urine, and of course, rabbit skin glue. In today's rapidly advancing world, there are many more choices available for artists who prefer non-animal based products that perform far better than their animal-based predecessors.

Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) Primer Pigment

This primer contains premium-grade Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) white pigment, renowned for its exceptional performance in acrylic priming. Its standout feature is its enduring whiteness, coupled with remarkable flexibility that persists over time. In contrast to other pigments such as zinc dioxide, Titanium Dioxide maintains its resilience, preventing brittleness as it ages. This quality ensures that artworks retain their integrity and will stand the test of time.

Our Hardcore™ Pro Pro Canvas Panels are the flattest on the market. They are made using MDF (medium density fiberboard) which is the highest quality engineered wood board on the market. Moisture in the board can cause undesirable results to the panel and your artwork, which is why we size the board with four layers on the front before the canvas is mounted, thereby defending against moisture getting into the board and underneath your artwork.

Canvas Panels should be as flat as possible, otherwise, they don't display well in a frame, and can create spaces between the artwork and the frame. A bowed panel is also a sign of having been impacted by the effect of moisture. Canvas can shrink, even after it is mounted on the board. For this reason, Masterpiece® developed a unique proprietary process that stress-relieves each panel, thereby virtually eliminating the bow that is commonly found in competing panel products. Hardcore™ Pro Canvas Panels provide a stable foundation for your art.

To those who doubt the hand of a woman, I let my art speak. ♦ Artemisia Gentileschi

Artemisia Gentileschi, a Baroque-era painter, faced daunting adversities in her time, both personal and professional. As a female artist in the 17th century, a period when women were rarely given the same opportunities or recognition as their male counterparts, Gentileschi had to fight tenaciously for her place in the artistic world. This fight wasn't merely against societal norms; it was a battle against doubters, critics, and those who felt a woman's place was far removed from the revered halls of artistry.

Yet, with unyielding determination, Gentileschi proved that talent, passion, and vision knew no gender boundaries. Artists today can take inspiration from her audacity and resilience. When faced with skepticism or prejudice, it is the authenticity and power of our work that becomes our loudest advocate. Like Gentileschi, we have the ability to let our creations stand as testaments to our capability and vision. So, to every artist reading this, know that while the world might at times doubt or question, the work we produce, the art we breathe life into, speaks volumes. And as it speaks, it silences the doubters, one masterpiece at a time.
