8x24 Hardcore Pro Versailles Plein Air Canvas Panel #HL-0824

True 3:1 Panorama Proportion - 8x24 Size

This unique 8x24 is actually a fairly common 3:1 proportion used in art and cinema.

The 3:1 Panorama a proportion is preferred by many artists who require a super wide compositional format. Of course, this proportion is popularized by photographers and cinematographers, for ultra landscape and wide angled imagery that creates a sense of scope and grandeur in a scene, like cityscapes, ocean and mountain scenes, and scenes with expansive horizons. It is described as a polyomino proportion on the order of 3 or triple-square proportion. There are several common Panorama sizes in this 3:1 aspect ratio that you will recognize, and some are intriguing custom sizes, as well.

This primer contains premium-grade Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) white pigment, renowned for its exceptional performance for oil priming. This quality ensures that artworks retain their integrity and will stand the test of time.

Our Hardcore™ Pro Pro Canvas Panels are the flattest on the market. They are made using MDF (medium density fiberboard) which is the highest quality engineered wood board on the market. Moisture in the board can cause undesirable results to the panel and your artwork, which is why we size the board with four layers on the front before the canvas is mounted, thereby defending against moisture getting into the board and underneath your artwork.

Canvas Panels should be as flat as possible, otherwise, they don't display well in a frame, and can create spaces between the artwork and the frame. A bowed panel is also a sign of having been impacted by the effect of moisture. Canvas can shrink, even after it is mounted on the board. For this reason, Masterpiece® developed a unique proprietary process that stress-relieves each panel, thereby virtually eliminating the bow that is commonly found in competing panel products. Hardcore™ Pro Canvas Panels provide a stable foundation for your art.

It is easier to resist at the beginning than at the end. ♦ Leonardo da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci, a polymath of the Renaissance era, was not just an unparalleled painter but also a scientist, mathematician, and philosopher. His insatiable curiosity led him to explore a myriad of fields, pushing boundaries and forever reshaping the way we understand the world. Leonardo's observation about resistance reveals a profound understanding of human nature and the passage of time.

Artists are all too familiar with the challenges that arise at the inception of a project. The first brushstroke, the initial idea, and the blank canvas can often be the most daunting. But as Leonardo aptly notes, addressing these initial hesitations and fears is crucial. Once we're deeply invested in our work, shifting directions or admitting a need for change can be even harder. We must recognize the importance of setting the right trajectory from the onset, ensuring that our art not only flows from our hearts but also stands true to our vision.
