Pro Round Tahoe™ 10oz Acrylic Primed Cotton Canvas 3/4 Inch Deep VOT-0707

Buy a 4-pack and save cost and shipping!

Masterpiece® Monet Pro Canvas is several steps ahead of any other shaped canvas on the market. The frames are made with MDF (medium density fiberboard), which is highest quality engineered wood on the market.

We use a heavy 10 oz. triple primed canvas. We stretch it drum-tight, and we staple the canvas on the back, which is a painstaking process, but allows you to remove the canvas from the frame, if you ever need to do so. No other shaped canvas on the market offers all of these benefits and features on shaped canvases.

Tahoe™ 10oz Acrylic Primed Cotton

Strikes the perfect balance between medium & heavy weight cottons; substantially heavier than most widely available canvas, but it is supple and forgiving to the brush.
  • 100% Cotton 10 oz; Primed Weight 14.6 oz per square yard
  • Heavy Weight, Medium Weave, Medium Texture
  • Sized and Triple Primed with acid-free archival quality acrylic gesso
  • Impenetrable ground prevents oil paint from leaching through and harming the canvas
  • For acrylics, oils, alkyds, and water miscible oil paints

Vegan Ground:

There are no animal products that make-up the sizing and the primer for this fine canvas. Historically, traditional canvas grounds have included egg tempura, pigments with cow urine, and of course, rabbit skin glue. In today's rapidly advancing world, there are many more choices available for artists who prefer non-animal based products that perform far better than their animal-based predecessors.

Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) Primer Pigment

Our primer is made with the highest-quality Titanium Dioxide white pigment, which is an excellent pigment for acrylic primed grounds, providing superior whiteness and maintaining excellent flexibility over time. Unlike some other common pigments, such as zinc dioxide, TiO2 doesn't become brittle as it ages, helping to ensure that your painting will stand the test of time.

Professionally Stretched Shaped Canvas Drum Tight

Masterpiece® Monet Pro shaped canvases are stretched drum-tight and stapled on the back, making it possible for you to remove the canvas from the frame, should you ever need to do that. Our product is unique in the marketplace and offers a superior method of stretching that allows you to remove and restretch the canvas onto this or another similarly shaped frame without losing part of your painting. We provide enough canvas selvage to make it possible to restretch, should it ever be necessary.

1/8" Canvas Clearance

The canvas is 3/4" deep and has a minimum of 1/8" clearance between the canvas and the frame to help prevent the ghosting that occurs when applying pressure to the canvas and it touches the frame. Adequate clearance between the canvas and the frame is essential to prevent the tracing of the inside perimeter of the frame on your painting. This is a unique Masterpiece® feature for a shaped canvas.

When a person is born, he can embark on only one of three roads of life: if you go right, the wolves will eat you; if you go left, you'll eat the wolves; if you go straight, you'll eat yourself. ♦ Anton Chekhov

Anton Chekhov, a master of human nature and subtlety in his literature, presents us with an allegory of the paths life offers. Born in a Russia undergoing significant change, Chekhov experienced the complexities of existence from both the life of a physician and that of a playwright. His understanding of life's roads is not just a product of his fertile imagination, but also a distillation of his lived experiences and observations.

For artists, the interpretation of these three paths is as intricate as the layers of paint on a canvas. The first path speaks to external challenges, reminding us that at times the world can feel predatory, poised to consume our ambitions. The second highlights our agency, our power to take control and, sometimes, dominate or subdue our surroundings. But it is the third path that may speak the loudest to our collective soul. To eat oneself is to engage in self-reflection, self-critique, and sometimes self-doubt. It is within this introspective realm that we artists often find our most profound inspiration, even though the process can be consuming. While we navigate these roads, it's essential to recognize the interconnectedness of our paths, drawing strength from each phase, challenge, and triumph. The key, perhaps, is to balance the introspection with the world's realities, crafting a unique trajectory that captures the essence of our individual and shared experiences.

With an artist's spirit and a modern touch, we bring you this hand-selected quote and provide context to its meaning. To tie it all together, we include our own one-of-a-kind portrayal of Anton Chekhov. Now let your colors flow!
