Pro Round Tahoe™ 10oz Acrylic Primed Cotton Canvas 3/4 Inch Deep VOT-1212

Masterpiece® Monet Pro Canvas is several steps ahead of any other shaped canvas on the market. The frames are made with MDF (medium density fiberboard), which is highest quality engineered wood on the market.

We use a heavy 10 oz. triple primed canvas. We stretch it drum-tight, and we staple the canvas on the back, which is a painstaking process, but allows you to remove the canvas from the frame, if you ever need to do so. No other shaped canvas on the market offers all of these benefits and features on shaped canvases.

Tahoe™ 10oz Acrylic Primed Cotton

Strikes the perfect balance between medium & heavy weight cottons; substantially heavier than most widely available canvas, but it is supple and forgiving to the brush.
  • 100% Cotton 10 oz; Primed Weight 14.6 oz per square yard
  • Heavy Weight, Medium Weave, Medium Texture
  • Sized and Triple Primed with acid-free archival quality acrylic gesso
  • Impenetrable ground prevents oil paint from leaching through and harming the canvas
  • For acrylics, oils, alkyds, and water miscible oil paints

Vegan Ground:

There are no animal products that make-up the sizing and the primer for this fine canvas. Historically, traditional canvas grounds have included egg tempura, pigments with cow urine, and of course, rabbit skin glue. In today's rapidly advancing world, there are many more choices available for artists who prefer non-animal based products that perform far better than their animal-based predecessors.

Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) Primer Pigment

Our primer is made with the highest-quality Titanium Dioxide white pigment, which is an excellent pigment for acrylic primed grounds, providing superior whiteness and maintaining excellent flexibility over time. Unlike some other common pigments, such as zinc dioxide, TiO2 doesn't become brittle as it ages, helping to ensure that your painting will stand the test of time.

Professionally Stretched Shaped Canvas Drum Tight

Masterpiece® Monet Pro shaped canvases are stretched drum-tight and stapled on the back, making it possible for you to remove the canvas from the frame, should you ever need to do that. Our product is unique in the marketplace and offers a superior method of stretching that allows you to remove and restretch the canvas onto this or another similarly shaped frame without losing part of your painting. We provide enough canvas selvage to make it possible to restretch, should it ever be necessary.

1/8" Canvas Clearance

The canvas is 3/4" deep and has a minimum of 1/8" clearance between the canvas and the frame to help prevent the ghosting that occurs when applying pressure to the canvas and it touches the frame. Adequate clearance between the canvas and the frame is essential to prevent the tracing of the inside perimeter of the frame on your painting. This is a unique Masterpiece® feature for a shaped canvas.

Pro Round™ Professional canvases are built one-by-one and stretched using our proprietary stretching process called, MuseumWrap™, which relies on in-house custom-built pneumatic machinery that delivers consistently drum-tight stretched canvas, balanced tension across the canvas surface, neatly folded uncut corners, and paintable edges. It is the absolute best way to stretch a canvas.

All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another. ♦ Anatole France

Anatole France, an eminent French writer and Nobel laureate, eloquently delved into the human psyche, observing the intricate dance between longing and loss. His reflections on change embody the universal sentiment of holding onto memories, relationships, and identities, while simultaneously yearning for transformation. Each transition brings with it a sense of mourning for what is left behind, even as we eagerly anticipate what lies ahead.

This sentiment is particularly potent. As we evolve in our art careers, our styles, techniques, and visions often undergo metamorphosis. Each canvas, sculpture, or sketch holds a piece of who we were at that moment in time. And as we venture into new creative territories, we might sometimes feel the pang of nostalgia for earlier expressions of our art. Yet, embracing this cycle of transformation is what allows us to grow, innovate, and truly connect with our ever-evolving inner selves. While change may come with its own set of melancholies, it also paves the way for unprecedented explorations and unparalleled creations.

We curated this insightful quote by Anatole France, and our interpretation thereof; plus we made this portrait in the spirit of creativity. Time to create your own expression!
