Leonardo da Vinci, the epitome of the Renaissance Man, was an artist, scientist, mathematician, and inventor. His illustrious masterpieces like the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper are technical and compositional masterpieces in the history of art. Yet, his reflective lament captures a sentiment that most artists, at one point or another, have wrestled with: the feeling that our work falls short of our own expectations or its potential.

Our creations are an extension of our very being. When we feel they are not up to snuff, it feels like a personal failing. But Leonardo demonstrates that even the most celebrated of artists, whose works have achieved global acclaim, are no less or more human than the rest of us, and certainly not immune to self-doubt.
