True 2:1 Domino Proportion - 4x8 Size
An intriguing Domino size!
The 2:1 aspect ratio, that we call the domino proportion, also offers a unique canvas for artists to play with the perception of space and depth within their compositions. The elongated format allows for the inclusion of foreground, middle ground, and background elements, creating a sense of distance and scale that draws the viewer's eye into the artwork. This aspect ratio has been used by artists throughout history, from ancient Egyptian tomb paintings to Renaissance frescoes to contemporary photography. Its versatility and timelessness make it a classic choice for artists seeking to create dynamic and engaging compositions.

Vincent™ Pro 7/8" Deep Bar • 5/16" Canvas Clearance
5/16" Canvas Clearance is the space between the Bar and the canvas. Generally speaking, more clearance reduces the risk of the canvas touching the wood and creating unsightly lines during painting. Our design provides the optimal clearance so as not to impact your painting, but still leaving enough wood to the maximize strength of the Stretcher Bar.
- Produces a 7/8" deep stretched canvas
- 1.5" wide Stretcher Bar
- Solid Ponderosa Pine or Fir from the Pacific Northwest
No Finger Joints!
Solid Wood is far superior to finger jointed wood, which is many small pieces glued together, each with varying grain densities that absorb and shed moisture at varying rates, expanding and contracting non-uniformly as environmental conditions change, and causing the wood to bow and the finger joints to eventually fail.
A single homogeneous kiln-dried solid wood Stretcher Bar outperforms and outlasts a finger jointed Bar whose sole purpose is to save the manufacturer cost, not contribute to the archival value of artwork intended to last a millennium. As a manufacturer, Masterpiece® does its part to conserve as much wood as possible, and still provide a quality product that will out-perform any other in the marketplace.
Sustainable Forests for Future Generations
Sustainable forestry practices go beyond just planting and harvesting trees. They also involve careful planning, monitoring, and management to ensure the long-term health and productivity of the forest. By using lumber from sustainably managed forests, we can support these important practices and help to ensure that our planet's forests remain healthy and productive for generations to come.

♦ Paul Klee
Paul Klee, the Swiss-German painter, born in Münchenbuchsee, Switzerland, in 1879, is known for his innovative and abstract art. He understood the intricate relationship between life and artistic expression and demonstrated profound insight into the human experience, which is articulately expressed in this quote.
His life was a testament to his belief in the interconnectedness of life and art. He explored a wide range of artistic styles, including Expressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism, during his prolific career. His works often featured whimsical, dreamlike imagery, and intricate geometric patterns. Klee's ability to master life's complexities allowed him to delve into various forms of artistic expression, pushing boundaries and redefining conventional art forms.
Life experiences, emotions, and personal growth all serve as the foundation for our creative endeavors. Just as Klee ventured into different artistic realms, we, too, draw inspiration from life's multifaceted nature. Our ability to master the intricacies of existence enriches our art, enabling us to create works that connect with our audience. Klee's wisdom reminds us that the canvas of life is vast and endlessly inspiring, providing us with the wellspring of creativity to explore and express ourselves through various artistic forms.
Journey with us as we blend the wisdom and our own artistic representation of Paul Klee. May this alliance empower your artistic soul. Begin your masterpiece!
